Tapas in the Classroom

An interactive culinary experience for secondary schools!

Untitled design.jpg.JPG

In 2023, we stepped into a local classroom, not quite knowing what to expect. We left buzzing with ideas.

We realised then, that we really enjoy working with young people, so we made it official --> We joined the Young Person's Guarantee scheme to make an impact.

Three years of classroom collaborations... and counting!

Since that first visit, we've worked in Home Economics kitchens and teamed up for joint Spanish language and cultural classes, bringing real-world context to learning.

What we teach...

📍 Provenance & Sustainability

Where does our food really come from? We trace ingredients from Scottish farms to our Spanish recipes, discussing seasonality, food miles and ethical choices.

👨🏻‍🍳 Practical Cookery

Hands-on, safe knife skills, cooking techniques and recipes. The core task is one: creating the perfect Spanish tortilla as a team.

🌍 Cultural Exchange

We explore Spanish dining culture, the social role of tapas and basic Spanish food vocabulary.

Are you a teacher and want to give your students a memorable, multi-disciplinary learning experience? Get in touch to discuss dates, learning outcomes and pricing.

A fantastic learning experience for our S5 students! Pablo was incredibly passionate and engaged the entire class. Without a doubt, we will have Manda Huevos back next year.

Hazel R.

DYW School Coordinator - Penicuik

A brilliant and practical session for our home economics students! Galician pies, home made crisps and of course the mighty Spanish tortillas were delicious. All made using local produce. Thank you so much for visiting our school!
